Conn "Schmidt Model" Double Horn

This is a beautiful old Conn 6D "Schmidt Model" double french horn. This horn was originally used by the United States Quartermaster Corps, which used to be a part of the U.S. Army. The horn has a lovely satin finish in silver plate, which we were able to keep nearly entirely intact. After a lot of deliberation, it was decided that we would repair and keep the imperfect original leadpipe rather than replacing it with a new one, since we wanted to keep the horn as original as possible. It was not possible to anneal the leadpipe since it has the original silver plate, so we took the denting out as much as possible without endangering the structural integrity of the brass.
